UO is a game of skill that tests people quickness and critically thinking as well as their economical and social choices. Along with that it is a perfect game to play when your older sister for some reason needs all the TV's to watch Keeping Up With The Kardashian and Teen Mom as well as using the only house phone to talk to her Arabian Boyfriend Muhamed.

No other game I have played has sparked as much emotion or drama as ultima. To an extent, a lot of real life situations are played out here as well. You find out who your friends or enimies are. The game just is, it's what you make of it. Your actions and attitude, positive or negative affect everyone in this game similar to life in general. The idea of being in a different time and place with a different function is intresting enough for me. This game was made for dedicated people willing to dump their time into it. It's almost like a time machine because I look back and say "damn, all the years I spent on uo lol". Live, learn and love, enjoy your time while you can!

Best thing about UO? Reinvention... I had no idea what to say to this thread but I figured it out so here it is.

In the last month I went from being in a guild I've been with for nearly 2 years. All of a sudden these people who had my back call me a faggot, a horrible father etc. So, what do I do? I lay low for a while, I make a new miner character which I tend to do when I want to revisit my very first character I ever made. I proceeded for the next week to mine, mark ore veins for myself and aquire a rather large library. In between bumped into said guild, won some, lost some. But it's nice to know that someone picks you out of a crowd to destroy you.

The new spawn has taken the zergs from the field to the dungeon. I agree'd with this at first, but yesterday after my pets dieing aprox. 8 times in all due to faction blessed weapons coming at me on my tamer, lunar and undine elementals. And last but not least ONE guilds insatiable appetite for being the biggest pricks on the server went out of their way running small spawns to find someone to kill than proceeded to kill my pets again. So I raged, 3 13 year old players searching solo's out to bola kill them? Pathetic, so I gave my pets away and do not intend on running dungeons anymore.

So right now I'm in between doing escorts, farming leather and cloth. To a lot this might sound extremely lame and IT IS however right now it's entertaining the hell out of me and I'm getting something positive out of my game time which is what a game is for.

So forget all the other idea's of what makes this game great, this is the number 1 reason right here. No matter what, if people ruin your game for you, you can reinvent yourself into something else, or try your hand at glassblowing or stone mason. Maybe do some bod's... This game will always ALWAYS provide something more to do, if you give it a try. Eventually I'll come back around to doing a little PvM here and there but you know what? 3 frenzied ostards tearing apart a bull so I can farm leather, priceless entertainment to me right now.

I just started playing Hybrid less than two weeks ago. I quit UO when AOS came out-all the fancy new moves and powerscrolls etc ruined the game for me. Since then I played DAOC, WoW, and Warhammer Online, and all of them were drab compared to UO. UO is barbaric compared to those games in terms of graphics, economy, and communication, but is so much better in terms of PvP and creating your own online world. You can do so many things which doesn't involve grinding pointless honor or levels or forced to play along a uniform path that everyone else plays week after week. UO allows you to be an invididual who plays the game how you want to play it. There is no set path or goal.

Coming back to UO after a 10 year break feels like coming home.

The thing that makes UO great is the blatant and endless dickery. No other game quite lets you be as huge of a dick as UO does, and it is the sole reason the game continues on to this day.

Thanks. Pretty confusing all around I guess. I don't think as many people care about the house as some would like to believe, but playing games with people's heads just for the hell of it, isn't too cool.

So I'll reiterate, just give the thing to Paracelsus and be done with it. He'll do something good with it regarding new players, probably better than the rest of us. So if it was all a hoax, and it is Ryan or Countessa, well I guess they should get busy creating or transferring that thing.
