If you are interested in participating in the hardcore RP idea that I proposed please post here with

character name, profession.

A regular first or last name or both will suffice.

We are tenatively looking at making the center of this in tram minoc and the surrounding areas.

Remember, fresh characters only.

I think you need to set some more rules to make it actually interesting.
Such as no outside armor/weps have to be vendor bought or made by an rp of that class...
so on so forth.

2. items - only items you can make OR another person involved can make or buy from npcs (but no runics). NO insurance at all for any item at any time.

Yea, I don't know what they are putting in the water there in Minoc, but I just got Gunther together and strolled into town. To my surprise what I found, while rounding up the beggars and thieves was other players. They were moving around and playing the game. And not just two or three or four, there were about a dozen of them that I saw in about an hour. Not only that, they spoke to me, in full sentences.

The conversations were all in-character about what was going on around Minoc and the possibility that with the discovery of new ores and gems that Minoc may become a boomtown.

For the past year or so we have been developing RP around Yew, Britain and Vesper - but there it was, maybe all along already in Minoc and it as been seriously overlooked.

The game news is: Gunther has quartered himself in the tower just North East of the stables on the North edge of town with the sign, Royal Guard of Minoc. He locked up a thief, two beggars and a gypsy and escorted some folks to Yew and Cove (for a little side business).

The best part; this Nikus asked Gunther spontaneously what the laws were governing the town - since I introduced myself as the Town Guard. I told him the basic laws and ordinances and he seemed to understand and want to obey them.

Stalker, The most powerful person in the entire universe who kills people by only looking at them. So if you see me in-game you have to die as soon as you're on the same screen otherwise you aren't rp'ing properly.

Lucias Spencer, apprentice tailor

Lucias has a big heart and a hearty laugh, but is not the most skilled with cloth and leather. He's learning... but it doesn't seem like he's learning fast enough. He's forgetful and clumbsy. He'll try his best, but don't be surprised if one sleeve is longer than the other.

Lucias was born to a family of farmers and fighters, but for some strange reason decided to try his hand at being a tailor. He can be found either practicing his new skill in the Minoc tailoring area OR out slaughtering cattle and sheering sheep in hopes to get more resources for his trade. While his fighting methods may be sloppy, it gets the job done.

A quick note:

Please avoid playing your HCRP character until everything is set up. If you try and sign up to the guild with a trained character I might tell you to remake him.

Howdy there! Doc VanDyke's the name Medical Docter by training and Professor by choice currently quartering myself in the Inn of New Haven.
Say... mind if I take a look-see at that bandaging on your arm.....Ah mmmm... that looks a wee bit tight to allow proper circulation.....


(all stats and abilities locked, just walking to the Inn bumped skill points up to like 102)


*I understand no macroing of skills for stat gains is a key to this new player developing story .... can we purchase training?
can the begger obtain magic items like bracers and rings by begging and hanging around the Luna bank waiting for them to fall to the floor?

Yes, you can purchase skills from npc... but you cannot transfer money to yourself from another character or "acquire" it by begging from someone NOT in the HCRP. It is up to you to decide how to use the 1000 gold... either for training a few skills to like 30 or buying yourself equipment.

No you are not allowed to use items dropped on the floor by non HCRP characters. You are also not allowed to use any magic items that monsters drop either. However if a monster drops something you might like to keep for another character, you are allowed to pick it up and give it to them.

Minor magical items MAY be leaked in, but this will only be done via quests, if at all.

Also, feel free to log onto your characters... get the supplies you need, and head to minoc. Just try not to train any skills or anything yet.


BTW: How does 8pm est sound on weekdays and 12pm est sound on weekends? I am trying to find times where the most people can log in and interact.

The times sound good, in my opinion anyway. (Live in Texas) Do we know when around the guild will be created? Not attempting to be an annoyance, just curious so I can be around when you're ready.

How'sbout town hall meetings on Wednesday at 8 (east) and Saturday Noon (east) to get guild invites/updates/launch missions. With the understanding we should be looking for others to be on around those same times during the week/weekends, 8/12.

Does Minoc have a municipal building that we can use for that?

I work nights eastern time monday night to friday night ... thse hours will work for me!!!!! Lets hear from some players farther west ... will that work?

I am in the process of downloading the uo client to my computer right now... I should have the guild set up tommorow at some point.

Ugh... the computer I JUST fixed crashed... and unfortunatly I don't have access to anything to fix it for 3 weeks... most likely.

However, I won't stop any of you from starting the guild and RPing without me. I'll reimburse whoever does it when I get back and then some. If you are willing to of course. Otherwise, this will get done in 3 weeks....hopefully


At any rate you won't be seeing me for awhile so ta ta. =/

Gunther will give Doc VanDyke access to be able to friend people to the tower, NE of the stables. That will give characters a place to congregate and store items they donate for community usage.
