Re: Battle for Britain
Now hear this:
A new Evil regime has taken control of Demise Roleplayers Alliance and instead of a Good guild being in charge of enforcement of the Laws of the Land, now that is in the hands of the Undead who follow orders from their Dark Lord Morax. This is the outcome of the Evil players side winning the Twilight Descends Campaign.
How does this turn of events affect the implications of region control in the Battle for Britain?
Just as outlaws were safe from Capture in regions conquered by Invading Hordes; the same applies to Free Regions that are controlled by Defenders of Britain.
Invaders control [A, B] and with Undead currently in power, can enforce laws throughout the land except in the Free Regions controlled by Defenders of Britain [C, D, E, F]
The regions controlled by Defenders of Britain will stay free and UND will not be able to enforce their laws in those regions until they have been conquered again.
Also, control means free movement to members of the side with control in that region and restricted access to members of the opposite side.
Restricted access means members of the controlling side have the latitude to not tolerate the presence of or if they wish to block access to features of that region from members of the other side like bridges, banks, roads, stables and the moon gate.
What are the control regions and where exactly are the boundaries of the Free Regions so I know when I step off them?
A, Mountain Pass (control includes Road to Yew)
B, Britain Moongate (control includes Gate and Bridge)
C, Road to Vesper (control includes Castle of Blackthorn)
D, Eastern Britain (control includes Bridges and the Chamber of Virtues)
E, Western Britain (control includes West Britain Bank)
F, The Palace (the goal is to control the Palace region)
A, Mountain Pass is the gap where the Western Road that leads from Britain to Yew cuts through the mountain. The region starts on the Britain side of the mountain inside the pass and extends all the way to the Yew crossroads, not just the first one. That is the Skara Brae crossroads. Road Regions include only the brown hard pack of the road surface itself and not and clearings on either side.
B, Britain Moongate region is the largest single region. It includes the land from Britain to the mountains that contain farms. It includes the South half of the South bridge, the road to the Mountain Pass, the road to Britain Moon Gate and also extends into the forests around there from the Sandy Beach to the river head then North West to the mountains.
C, Road to Vesper is the Great Eastern Road as it emerges from Britain till it terminates in the Swamp. It includes only the brown hard pack of the road surface itself and not and clearings on either side. The road part also includes half of the North bridge there. Blackthorn Castle is included. The Castle control includes the entire island and half of the bridge to the island.
D, Eastern Britain is the region East of the canal that contains houses or a Guarded Zone and the East half of four of the five bridges. Except region C.
E, Western Britain is the main body of Britain that is surrounded by water on three sides and the Grave Yard to the North. Control extends to all Guarded Zones except that outside the boundary of the waters edge and only half of Her bridges that are part of other regions.
F, The Palace, control includes the entire island and half of the bridge to the island. Control of the palace gives the ability to establish and enforce laws in continuously connected regions. These laws only apply to members of Guilds that are signed up to participate in Battle for Britain.
For example:
If Defenders of Britain are in control of [E, F] and Snark, a member of Crimson Marauders who is wanted for highway robbery is banking in the street (E) when Undead attempt an arrest. Samuel, the captain of Guardians of Britannia is present and attempts to intercede.
Some background:
The opposing forces in this battle are members of Defenders of Britain or Invading Hordes. Britannian Guards are members of Defenders of Britain. Undead are members of Invading Hordes. Crimson Marauders are uninvolved in Battle for Britain.
The Outcomes:
Snark is not under the protection of the Defenders of Britain's Free Region, because Crimson Marauders are uninvolved. Undead officers can arrest him.
Undead are members of Invading Hordes and are not tolerated in the Free Regions. They are freely attackable by any member of Defender of Britain.
Undead is defeated by Samuel in the process of making an arrest and a 48 hour defeat timer or other consequences apply. The victory is not considered murder in this scenario, because the officer knew it was risky to enter a Free Region. Members of Battle for Britain have a right to patrol and protect their regions between Battles.
Samuel is not amused by the presence of Crimson Marauders in his city and Snark was breaking Britain City Ordinances by opening his bank box in a public street. Samuel can not arrest or fine him. Laws of Britain do not apply to Snark in a Free Region because Crimson Marauders are not involved in the Battle for Britain.
Samuel will have to wait till Britannian Guards are in power to pass Laws of the Land to be able to keep this trash off his streets or allow Unead officers to do their jobs.
