Yeah its fucking bullshit they are already shutting some of them down. That just proves the government can do whatever the fuck they want. Also yes, they blackout did have a good effect on changing peoples minds, just not the right people.

I just don't see how you can introduce those bills without being an enemy of free speech (or seeing the result it could have). A government CIA or NSA op could get on a site as a user, post links to copyrighted material on purpose, and then get that site shut down without ever having due process. If the two Parties don't laugh those endorsing it out of the room, and seriously question whether they stand for freedom of speech, then I think it's safe to assume they are in league with trying to get it done in the first place (and just testing the waters to try to find a way).

Our politicians' power is all based on their access to income streams, and their chipstack. If you want to have any hope of influencing them, for any purpose, that is the only thing I would expect them to respond to.

..but, I think some of them are more hard-up for computer porn than most.

It read along the lines of "this act of service and knowledge denial in response to a bill passing likens to terrorism. There should not be people in control of such mass amounts of intelligence and the capability to spread it, and further proves the need for this law"

they literally shot themselves in the foot by doing this. sure it made people "aware" of the law. fuck look on my facebook, i said this was happening WEEKS AGO and spammed the fuck out of my wall with links warning about it, and half of my real life friends were still "OH MAN WHAT AM I GONNA DO WITHOUT REDDIT OR WIKIPEDIA MY HOMEWORK FUUUUCK" (don't even get me started on the shitstorm my feed was producing yesterday holy fuck) and some people called their state heads(a good move I'll give them that one) while others started spewing shit about online petitions and blah blah blah. I ask the same thing to everyone who thinks protesting will stop something quickly. "are you registered to vote" -- ' hell no that's a waste of time voting solves nothing' >> EXACT FUCKING STATEMENT. The first thing I did when I turned 18 was register to vote. And to any member of this forum who isn't registered, CHANGE THAT.

on the other hand, it SHOWED THE GOVERNMENT THE EXTENT OF THE FREEDOM ON THE INTERNET. Think -- "If they can do this whenever they want, WHAT ELSE CAN THEY DO". All in all, it was a bad move and cemented the need for such a thing. They are now scared of free information trade not being censored a la mainstream media news (hey guys did you hear about that iranian student murdered in houston mysteriously? no? oh right EVERY NEWS CHANNEL IS COVERING GOP24/7)

I hear ya Pete. Some seriously crazy shit always being attempted and tested out. Funny how they always think 'they' should be solely 'in control of such mass amounts of intelligence and the capability to spread it' Kind of touches on a lot of subjects (like the whole Nuclear capability argument). I really think the only way to affect these people is through their wallets, which ultimately means affecting what interest groups fund their elections or support their lifestyles.

thanks pete for summing that up i posted WEEKs before this shit was going to happen and people kept asking where do I find this shit or say yea yea holly's just being holly and sure fucking enough the shit went down, even the people in my house knew about it and heard what i was saying but did not acknowledge it. I posted shit on my facebook about that women being murdered and said this is a prime example of what Obama signed the NDAA has the right to kill and detain any American they feel is a threat to the USA. and the bitch tells me you don't know who killed her to don't point finger................. ARE FUCKING KIDDING ME !! of course no one is going to find out who did because it not really against the law it's pisses me off how people can be so blind and just act like it's nothing....

Mossad activity has been increasing dramatically and now they are murdering people on our own soil for their fucked up games. I feel bad for the teacher /nuke scientist they killed too.

the fact that no gun shots were heard, it happened basically as she pulled in(she was on the PHONE WHEN SHE WAS MURDERED), and no evidence at all besides a fucking corpse and bullet holes(no one took her shit, no breaking and entering in the house) and the fact she was an >Iranian< womens rights leader(iranian women are very underpriveledged) paints it for an Iranian Hit (or it's always possible it was a random crime road rage who knows I wasn't there) but the way things have been going on of late, seems to be a false flag attack. we'll probably never know.

that's shity I live on the coast as well near camp lejeune the military base :/ I've live about 35mins from the actual main gate but I do believe we have most of our artillery here....
