demise scamming at its best

The only thing I guess im not understanding here is, Ok you got scammed lost some gold or items, all by your own doings clearly. As the person who scammed you didn't get in trouble therefore you handed your items over willingly. So you go set up this big auction scam, which is fine by me I don't care either way even if I had lost a orny or more in it, I still wouldn't care. What bothers me about it though is you ripped off a bunch of your so called friends.. Who had nothing at all to do with any of it. Then to come back on here and post you were angry you lost such n such items and decided to prove a point. I dont feel bad for you & I think you should get all your accounts and items deleted. If you are allowed to play again you should do so from scratch again... I once had respect for you, But I dont like or respect you at all anymore.


You say you don't care about items you lost, An you were not gonna keep items you scammed, I find it hard to believe you did all this to prove a point to the admins who stick by what they do right or wrong. You doing all this didn't change anything nor would it of.. All it did was cost you wayy more then you ever had lost in any scams.

Even if you do come back to play again, You will never get the same reputation back that you once had.
Anyways, Good luck you... Maybe a fresh start is what you needed..

pfft sod off, monk is monk, he scammed to prove bad policy on scamming, and gms made him the exception to the rule, and did what he said they should have done in the first place with all scams..

double standard imo, bad guys can scam, but good guys aren't allowed? pfft.... idc tbh, monk is still monk, and shouldn't be banned for things that people aren't usually banned for just because he's monk.

I think its even worse in his case to use his reputation to scam, Least when known scammers rip people off, They usually are aware the person is a shady person to do business with.

In this case, Monk typically doesn't scam, So imo its much worse.

Only other time anything simulair to this scam has happen was with jim's auction which i am not very familair with. I can say though the 2 main admins who were admin on sever then, are not now. Somethings maybe different. Non the less I dont agree with you.

As for double standard on scamming, I dont believe anyone else has involved staff in their scam's and got away with it. Had he not involved staff in his scam I would be saying sorry about your luck to the people who lost items, As I firmly believe you dont hand over things to people (friends or not) that your not willing to lose.

Edit- However I know not many will agree with my thoughts on this, You have your own opinion and I respect that, We will agree to disagree.

dude at the end of the day i didnt do it too hurt anyone and anyone who knows me and knows how i play when i say i would have given everything back will know 100% that i would have given it all back and the way i see it i did scamm everyone and yes i do regret doing it now to be honest if i didnt care i wouldnt be on here trying too explain my point as for all the respect i lost people who know me and know what i was trying too do will not care they all know i am totally honest and they all know i would have given it all back EVERYONES items in this game mean nothing too me and due too one of your previous posts saying that i planned this and knew i was going to do it weather you believe me or not means nothing to me but nothing was planned i did it as a spare of the moment thing and i dont know why people are saying GM sponcered Why because there was a banker?????

If anyone wants too hold any type of event which could warrent a banker the GM's will oblige the only people who i appologise too are the people who had items in the auction and i hope and pray they do believe me when i say i would have given them there shit back i didnt need there money or items the whole point too this was too prove a point i did hold an auction which did warrent the banker but all items ALL ITEMS were handed over before any banker showed up so who ever uses the excuse that they thought it was gm sponcered is talking out there backside as all items were handed over before the banker was there!!!! i wont be replying too this no more i feel i have tryed too explain everything i can i am banned i dont know if its perma ban if it is then hey what can i do if it is not and i can come back then ill just go back too working on my own shit after i lost everything in the casino i swore that was the last time i would open casino and i didnt open it again and have no plans too ever open it again and like i said before i would like too appologise too the people who i ripped off and like i said i never had any intention of keeping your shit ask the gms NONE of the items from the auction was transfered over too my bank they were all still in the auction house with there books as where it all would have stayed till i had given it all back!

you all seize on the fact there was a banker at the house, but you all know really that it made no difference to whether or not you trusted him and gave him the items. you trusted him because you know him by reputation - that's all there is to it, banker being there is just people grasping at straws to justify being pissed off, as anyone who was scammed would.

it's a reputation he has built up over many years, maybe he was playing the long con :p
doesn't make it any different to a standard scam. just he built up more rep, so was able to scam more.
it's totally an option for him or anyone. not something i'd recommend, but it is an option.

end of the day everyone has a reputation, and while monks was spotless, there is now an incident. personally tho im more accepting of the fact it was a matter of principle, and i think the special treatment he has gotten for it is the worst part of the whole affair.

it annoys me tbh, reminds me of when i registered my forum account to my game account: been playing for 3 years with no problems at all, registered out of courtesy to the GMs cos i was asked to, and like a week later i found myself in jail for shit on the forums -_____-

stay anonymous tbh, keep your distance from GMs, because nothing good comes of it.

I have know monk for two years and he has never scammed anyone that I know of...... He has always been the guy to help you out of a jam and give you money or items if needed.... I have been scammed a few times in this game by other players from other guilds. If a gold member scamed someone monk would have them booted in a heartbeat. I am not sure what went down but I would Still trust monk any day of the week over 99 % of the other players on demise.

Oh I don't disagree the banker had absolutely nothing to do with people giving him items, I totally agree with that 100%. I only say the banker had any effect on making the scam "illegal" due to the banker being there, I assume he paged for the banker to be there, or they did it on their own. If he didn't page for the banker then Id say it was all legal.


Monk, I only said you planned it bc I thought that was what I read that you posted, If not my apologizes. Must of been hear say.

Well, to trust or not to trust , thats different for everyone ....

Iv been playing uo for soooooooooo long ( 97 till now ) to me its just pixels, if i get scamed it wouldent do me a thing , there are more important stuff in rl then games ....

Then again , even now i'd still trust monk over moste of the players , ppl intend to forget what he did for alot of ppl , new to old players, from backing up on gold , deco , gear and so on ...he made a point wich i can understand , this show that the good get punished , and the bad gets away with it ( scammers i mean , every scammer should get banned , becaus alot of fair players left this game for this )

Then again ist part of a gamestyle , you like it or not ,

Can't do good for everyone neither , thats life ,thats the game .

Atleast unban monk to give everyone there items back , pherhaps with a Gm to controle where the items go , to make sure everyone got hes items back ....

annyhow ! like-dislike , just my toughts ...

Well, for one, pretty sure staff can give the items back without having to unban him :). Second, how do you figure only the good get punished? Monk wasn't good.. he proved that... and then the bad got punished.

So I have read all this trash. Staff banned monk for pulling the best hit. Anyone can scam a single item. What monk did was a masterpiece and got banned sad but staff had the power and the last word now maybe they should return every item ever scammed.

When a mastermind wants to create the best hit either a bank or bigger it takes time and trust of the people around Monk did that either if it was planned or not. The time he took to build his trust to be able to do this one hit that paid him over 500mil in a few hours. The items were given to him prior to the auction.

So lets see it this way monk is the manager of the bank staff were the ceo and all of you were clients.

Monks got the trust of his customers also from ceo.

Sadly I don't believe staff made thr right decision on this ive seen it happend on osi and never heard of people getting ban for doing so.

Caught he would of had a trial. Here those rules dont apply since in the rules it does not say we cannot scam or steal.

Compare apples with apples id and put your ego aside.
Madoff got banned for life for breaking a law/rule.
Monk did not break any laws or rules.

I love how you think my ego has ANYTHING to do with this, I sense your dislike for me seeping through the interwebs. You, sir, are the one who went ceo on us, I just continued your comparison. You compared tactics as your apples, I compared punishment as my oranges. See what I just did there?

Yes, it has happened on OSI. But on OSI, staff doesn't hand over a banker and thus has zero involvement. Monk inadvertently got staff involved, whether directly or not, and that may have been his downfall. I could throw another comparison in here but a third fruit would just be too much.
