im serious if sallos goes down for good get with me and we will make razor macros that are pretty damn close to the sallos macros....
if they really wanted to they could just take the top 3 features of sallos(targeting, smoothness, and macro system) and add it to razor...then no one could really say shit everyone would be on the same playing field.....although i believe that is the point of assist UO...maybe when it is finally perfected we can say goodbye to this debate once and for all

I personally like assistuo, I just wish the graphics were better, graphics are honestly the only reason I used sallos, was so much smoother. So yea if they did something to the extent of what you are saying, I'd be pretty happy. Sallos animations are alot cooler as well.
On a side note: Just did a couple alchy duels using assistuo, and I still got it.

This thread should of been trammeled looong time ago...its just a bunch of crying IMO.
and yes Ive used sallos, well when it was PlayUO, and It was very nice. But it is a cheat program, or can be used as one...and notice how when its not up people aren't playing. Leads me to believe that they don't have real skill, but depend on a program to put them on the same level as a lot of other truly skilled players.

If you don't think you can cheat using razor/assistuo and only using sallos you are dumb. A cheater is going to cheat regardless of what program/client he/she is using, bonus about sallos as far as cheating went is it was easily detectable. Reason people aren't playing is cuz they are hoping sallos isn't gone for good, if it is I'm sure a couple will log in and try to get use to assistuo or razor again. But I also know several people are going to quit. But if it isn't gettin removed completely as it hasn't been confirmed yet, that I know of, what is the point for people to log in and try to get use to another program when it will prob jus be back up tomorrow?
I don't think that people are saying you can only cheat with Sallos, I think they're saying that the majority of people who actively cheat are on Sallos.
This is Ryans server, he's going to do what he wants with it. If you don't like it then go play some place else.
In this game if I don't like a style of play, I stay away from it. For example, I hate the way ^SM fights, lots of wands/offscreening to gather vantage point etc. I just leave because I don't want to deal with it. Why don't you just do the same?
I have used both Sallos and Razor, there's things I like about both but when it comes down to it, after some issues with clients and client crashes on behalf of Sallos in comparison with Razor NOT crashing I stick with Razor. That being said, if you can't pony up and say, hell yeah lets decide on 1 3rd party program and call it a day, then Sallos truly is a crutch. If it takes players with it, the crying will also go away and threads like these will no longer exist with people screaming at each other.
Don't like it? Don't play. How are YOU any different from someone who comes in here and explains why they don't like this server and says they're quitting to which some genius on these forums say "If you're going to quit over something simple like that, you would just quit anyway so quit."? Same thing except you think you are owed something for being a regular player, well you aren't.
This is another syndrome that this game has presented in people that is truly outrageous. People are selfish and think that everything should revolve around them. I for 1 am glad that Ryan popped in and let his presence be known because I'm truly sick of the way people act on this game, untouchables. You now know his opinion, like it or not, he is God around here.

ha thats funny...I'm the opposite: freezing and client crashes made sallos a no brainer for me. Just gonna have to get used to crashing out in the middle of fights again I guess
I can truely do almost anything I can do with sallos with razor only difference for me was the cut offs, dragtobag and animations. The bad side about razor for me is. its a tad bit more choppy, I crash a lot, some reason randomly ill log in and have no macros and 6 times outta 10 I log in and within a hour can't walk W. Thats the reasons why I enjoy sallos..if I went to back to razor all I would lose would be cut offs (not a huge deal as I could use my del cut off set and just rename each rune..harder yes), and dragtobag (which wouldn't be a big deal if no one else could use it as well). To many downsides to razor for me to even attempt going back to it..I know ill be one of the several that does quit if its that the case (not outta rage just the fact razor is to much of a debby downer for ME to go back to and im sure a lot of the active pvp playerbase will die as well). But with what scorx said is one of the reasons I haven't even attempted to download razor and try it again cause no one has confirmed it yet, so why try to get use to another program again and reset ALL my macros.
Also sallos lobby might show that there is only 20-30 people on. But when u log in you notice how it shows 4-500 people logged in. That is every character logged in. Therefor most people who play UO, have more than 1 account logged in at a time. Soooo.... the 20-30 people it shows in the sallos lobby is actually about 100 people (CHARACTERS) or more....
Why do you assume that all PvPrs use Sallos? A staggering amount of PvPrs and FIELD FIGHTERS not just duel pit clowns use Razor. You all want to act like it's a complete nightmare for Ryan to say to you, Sallos is outdated, and no one is around to work on it anymore. Razor is also outdated and I have someone working on a newer program and we are going to phase out #1 and #2 and go solely with program #3. Why is that so hard to swallow? Just because the layout is *like* Razor, doesn't mean that the program *is* Razor.
I just don't see any legitimate complaints from all of the Sallos players. I understand you have grown accustom to Sallos, I also enjoyed using it when I did. However it's time to move on, all things have to evolve, have to change. If you're going to quit without even giving AUO a chance (most people who have say it's a good program) then be sure to let me know where your houses are so I can be there when they fall.
This is what drives down your credibility. I spend all of my time outside of guards where anyone could find me and kill me yet I must be a banksitter because I don't use Sallos, is this correct? This is my interpretation of your statement.
Sir you have contradicted yourself multiple times in this post... Obviously if we have to use a client that causes us to crash, lose our hot-keys, stop responding etc... That's not us bitching and complaining. There is no reason to use razor considering it does everything I just mentioned above... If people have such a problem with sallos cutt-offs/ drag-to-bag/etc. Then remove those things from the client. I could care less... But switching from sallos/razor will not happen. People cant have a good pvp group when your in the middle of a fight and your client stops responding. And if you sit here and say its ryans choice about what he wants to do about the razor/sallos issue. Then don't post your opinion... This is what I see, all of the tamers that go around and farm gold, escorts, sell pets, train pets, etc... These are the people who want to keep razor. The people who fight for faction sigils, fight to kill every blue who runs around in delucia, the majority of the TRUE pvpers on this server use sallos. So therefore its all on what Ryan wants on his server. A bunch of tamers, or a bunch of pvp. I am in one of the top faction guilds in the game, and from what I see all but 1 person in our guild would quit UO. End of story...

I myself never assumed EVERYone used sallos for pvp..just from my experience that I came across alot of people do (if people didn't, then why was this thread created?) and I spend ALL my time out of guard zones in the field and in dungeons. Im just stating im sure a lot of people isn't willing to give it a try and hurt the playerbase which has been hurt enough. I think i stated my legitimate complaints about razor for what happens to me when I use it..Granted its only me but I highly doubt im the only one in the bunch.

This is as far as I got because you ARE bitching and complaining. Contradicting myself? No. Sallos AND Razor will disappear, EVERYONE will be using a different client, you're just an illiterate asshole. All the things you mentioned? I'm sure half of it has to do with modifying files for crashed and losing your hot keys? Razor Profile, not responding? Never had a problem with it unless I leave the client up for over a week and it's sucking my physical memory. Making excuses will not make this change go away. If no one is even around to update this client it's going to become obsolete and completely incompatible with the server before too long anyway, get used to the idea. Don't bitch at me when Ryan has already put his foot down. That's like arguing with a cop, it gets you no where.
I really enjoy being compared to Viker, I have a red, and an orange, those are my primary PvPrs. Get over yourself. I bet Viker doesn't rage like you do when you die at least. QQ

To be clear, I never once said I was going to quit, I said i know several people who said they were going to quit. tbh, I set up assistuo, it would be a great program with a little bit more updating. The restock agent is really nice imo, can easily add things to it. the dress agent is nice, and it being able to mount and dismount off mounts about as easily as sallos does makes it nice as well.
All that being said, I wasn't trying to say people are saying you can only cheat with sallos, I was saying what "he" said sounded that way. However, I still don't see how it is anymore of a "cheat" client than anything else.

What a lovely post, and well written post. People wouldn't be so butt hurt about sallos if it didn't give them so many advantages.
Thanks for the clarification. I believe that the cheats are in reference to the many plugins being used by certain people, not all but certain ones.
