Not as it used to anymore... as the pirating scene was significatively reduced when stealing boats was prevented... also with not that many people fishing, there are not that many things to pirate...

I used to be the only true ninja pirate on Demise . Times have changed, and have went down the hill.

I pirated a ship after the fix. Because some fool left their key on the ground. So I recalled onto it, put my ship down, emptied their cargo hold. drydocked their ship, and sailed mine to shore where I was kindly greeted by someone yelling land ho!
