Behavior on Demise:
Once you reach the HP % it does 300 chaos damage and SDI has no impact on that damage.

Behavior on osi:
Once you reach the HP % it does 300 pure damage and SDI from items and abilities(arcane empowerment, reaper form) have an impact on the damage.

Supporting Documentation (URLs):
No Arcane Focus: you’re going to be hard-pressed to find an opponent with 5% or less hp, don’t bother, with Level 6 Focus: 300 points of direct damage.

The last link shows some screen shots of people trying to max out word of death damage. I didnt take any screen shots of my own testing so that is the closest i could find. Those crazy numbers are with the use of a lot of SA items/abilities but it give the general idea.

it was Chaos Damage and it was changed (in UOGuide, Sep 2011) to Direct Damage + the SDI thing.

The thread in Stratics forums is dated 2013

ML came in 30 August 2005
SA came in 8 September 2009
HS came in 12 October 2010

looks like something changed after ML, maybe during HS.
Should be it deferred or anyway can we put a Core.SA / Core.HS ? Is Demise still locked on Core.ML ?

I am working on a fix for this, but I need confirmation if it's direct damage with ML or not. Can you provide that, Animosity?

According to a not so sure Bama, the change was chaos damage before the 300 damage thing, and then direct damage when it reaches that level, so I made it this way so far.

Here are the fixes:

First one fixes both SDI and direct damage, but has no era check since apparently no one knows when it was made. Chances are it was always direct damage and we just lacked the info before, so I suggest we use this one.

Second one is just SDI fix.

The damage before the threshold point is chaos damage. The damage after that whether it be 5% or 30% has been pure damage, i used it a lot on OSI in 05-06 hitting peerless bosses and event bosses for 600-700 damage no matter what resists they had.

Using UOguide as the only source of verification is just dumb. The reason for the change on the guide isnt really related to a WoD change, the max sdi and damage bonus from skills(bard masteries) and items increase greatly so people really took notice when people started getting 1000+ damage wods.

Okay, so direct damage one is the correct fix. It does sdi-affected chaos damage before the threshould and then does sdi-affected direct damage.
