I think animaltaming is best for taming
As for the standard template, I like disco better. Takes down monsters faster and also helps in gaunt.
I'd go for peacemaking while your pets are bonding then drop it for disco once everything is bonded and fully trained.

The only way peace making is better is if you are doing a lot of taming for a profit. It makes taming a lot easier. Although most of the profit from taming is from rus and there are a lot of places to drag the rus to tame them without worries.
