Cables just have low upload usually. So i would prefer dsl when playing games.
I hope i had either one of those
But nay i have dual isdn 128/128 max download/upload 15k/15k.
Cable has much faster uploads than DSL. DSL is ussually 256K up/1.5M down, and cable is ussually 512k up/2-3M down. the ONLY advantage DSL has over cable is that it doesn't get effected by bottleneck as much, so your connection is more constant.
Those are max rates /\, @ one time I had multiple ISPs because my company was trying to figure out which one gave the fastest & most reliable service and I can honestly say my cable smoked both DSL options in my area. Cable runs very very close to max speed, where as DSL I'm was lucky to see 200k up and 1M down on a good day.... similar to dialup, a 56k modem you may have, but I doubt you're connecting any faster than 40k
My company now pays for 2 cable lines for me, but my new project is convincing them to get a T1 line instead
T1>cable>dsl>isdn>dialup
