Update March 15, 2014 - Wood Bonuses & Runic Fletching/Carpentry

The following changes will go in effect after server wars tonight:

General Crafting
  • Added the special wood bonuses. All existing weapons/armor crafted with special woods will be updated to receive these bonuses as well.
  • Corrected skill requirements for using special woods.
  • Weapons will now display their durability bonus like armor does.
  • Updated the exceptional crafting chances for bowfletching, carpentry and tinkering.
  • Craftman's satchels (rewards for the Heartwood crafting quests) will now contain rare recipes required for making craftable artifacts.
Blacksmithing
  • The following armor will now automatically receive the Mage Armor property when crafted exceptionally: Heavy Plate Jingasa, Light Plate Jingasa, Plate Do, Plate Haidate, Plate Hatsuburi, Plate Hiro Sode, Plate Mempo, Plate Suneate, Small Plate Jingasa.
Fletching
  • Enabled special wood selection and enhancing.
  • Heartwood fletching quests will now award runic fletching kits.
Carpentry
  • Enabled enhancing.
  • Added several non-recipe ML craftables (mostly elven add-ons).
  • Heartwood carpentry quests will now award runic dovetail saws.
General
  • Corrected archery shooting delay following movement.

can you please verify if this is for all of them? last time heartwood quests were added I did tinker quest for about three days trying to get scrappers recipe before i realized my efforts were in vain haha.
other than that I only have one thing to say....

Ouch!

Rare recipe drops are enabled for:
  • Blacksmithing
  • Fletching
  • Carpentry
  • Tailoring
  • Tinkering
Note, however, that recipes will not drop for items that have not been added to the crafting system yet. (Which is also why Inscription is not in that list -- the only rare recipe item has not yet been added.)

Rare recipes that will start dropping are:
  1. Blacksmithing - Rune Carving Knife
  2. Blacksmithing - Cold Forged Blade
  3. Blacksmithing - Overseer Sundered Blade
  4. Blacksmithing - Luminous Rune Blade
  5. Blacksmithing - Shard Thrasher
  6. Fletching - Blight Gripped Longbow
  7. Fletching - Silvani's Feywood Bow
  8. Fletching - The Night Reaper
  9. Carpentry - Acid Proof Rope
  10. Carpentry - Phantom Staff
  11. Carpentry - Ironwood Crown
  12. Carpentry - Bramble Coat
  13. Tailoring - Spell Woven Britches
  14. Tailoring - Song Woven Mantle
  15. Tailoring - Stitcher's Mittens
  16. Tinkering - Resilient Bracer
  17. Tinkering - Essence Of Battle
  18. Tinkering - Pendant Of The Magi
Even with the recipe, not all of these items can be crafted because some resources are still missing. Artifacts that do have their resources available already are: Rune Carving Knife, Cold Forged Blade, Overseer Sundered Blade, Luminous Rune Blade, The Night Reaper, Acid Proof Rope, Phantom Staff, Ironwood Crown, Bramble Coat.

The delay is 0.5 seconds instead of 0.25 seconds now. :)

...So, if I use a special wood, the fletching tool will have an "enhance weapon" option now? ... or is a runic fletching kit needed also?

Yes.

No, runic kits are for adding magical properties to things you craft. You can get the wood properties with normal kits by enhancing/crafting with special woods.

If i had to wait 3 seconds to shoot an arrow after moving my character I'm pretty sure i'd never play an archer ever again. That would be so annoying. That would be a pretty unfair advantage for anyone vs archer in pvp too would it not?
