I'd like people to read this, and comprehend: CLIFF BURTON WASN'T GREAT. Honestly, I like Jason's stuff better. Bands evolve over time, and older isn't always better. If you try to cite Cliff's technical ability, he's on par with a medium level guitarist in terms of skill, and even creativity. Not bashing what he accomplished, but he isn't all he's cracked up to be. Listen to some real bassists, like Billy Sheehan (the god of bass), Les Claypool, or even (god forbid) Flea.

Look at Pantera. You can't tell me they were better off with Terry Glaze as a singer. Phil Anselmo is a dick, but he can sing. Also, he wasn't a glam rocker.

My two cents. I know only one post mentioned cliff, but cliff's fanclub annoys me.
