[SVN] [Copern] Vendor Look ( browse view ) Command

Behavior on Demise:
No matter how many vendors can hear the command only 1 vendor will open it's inventory to you so you can see.From my tests on Demise I was only able to view 1 vendors inventory at a time.I had to move and issue the command to get another to open up their inventory to me.

Behavior on OSI:
Any vendor that can hear you will open up their inventory for you to look/browse/view.
Shot #1 4 heard me 4 opened their inventory
Shot#2 4 heard me 4 opened their inventory
Shot#3 6 heard me 6 opened their inventory ( these 3 examples do not happen on Demise )

From the first ss it looks like the "hearing range" is 2 tiles.

Is that correct or are there other factors to take into account?

I think so a line of hearing maybe?:p


Now try these 4 locations on Demise
The first spot is where your have Vendors in Luna
Try against that pillar first then walk up to the house wall and try
On OSI nothing opened

The other spots are like Stuff-Stuff's location try those 2 locations there
Again nothing opened on OSI

The range is already correct in Demise/RunUO. It works for phrases "vendor look/view/browse" and *look / *view / *browse.
I did a similar test IP did with Gnomes' Runes Galore, and Fritz won't open his marvellous stock if I am outside the building. Instead, if I go upstairs, he will open it if I am at 2 tiles range.

What is not correct is, only one vendor will open his bazaar for you in Demise/RunUO.

it worked
The 2nd shot is the same as the 3rd shot but I didn't have the journal open and it worked
So now what?
Are you talking rudely to those vendors?
Maybe you are not talking mean enough?
Did you make fun of their sexual preference?
All I said was vendor look
Do not turn this into a red skulls on the altar thread

*sigh* why these vendors hate me? Maybe because they already got 1.5kk from me??
I have tried again and yes they will open their backpack. I believe I have mistaken something before. Oh well, nevermind....

This'll open up all vendor packs in a 2 tile range where the vendor can "see" you. I just did a CanSee check instead of creating a CanHear method which seems to be close to how it works on OSI with possibly a few small discrepancies.

The only thing that needs to be tested would be to have vendors in rows and on different levels
So far the most I have been able to get to open their inventory is 5 due to how they are placed.
Another request would be to have them with different names to see who opened their inventory and how far away they are.
So far though very good

There are a lot of vendors on Demise TC @minoc gate all on different levels of the house. Some are rentals some are owned by the house.

I've added a whole bunch of vendors at different levels, and facing different directions, through the test gate, just in case anyone can't find uome's place.

A few problems with those Minoc gate vendors
Some can hear me through floors/ceilings that are not seen
Uome said something to the affect of x,y tiles.I think OSI uses z as well.

Anyway if you go to these vendors and enter the house you see to vendors 1 floor above you.Entering the house you see 2 vendors to your right
Standing under the vendors on the floor above you and saying vendor look opens their inventory not the ones visible.Stepping closer to the ones visible and saying vendor look opens their inventory and one of the two up one floor

On OSI that will not happen
The screen shots from OSI I am trying to get Flutes and Lutes vendor to show inventory and can not even when standing underneath the vendor

I tested here
Many problems
Whitney and Dimitri are 2 floors up
I screwed up the screen shot but those vendors are in the last shot

Oops, looks like the CanSee function doesn't do what I thought it did. And... I forgot about Line of Sight.

New patch with line of sight check, should fix the problem. I forget sometimes that CanSee is not a line of sight checker. :p
