hey i created a registery file... but im not sure if it would post... it only works with winxp and systems with 512mb or more ram... you might find it pretty useful... basically open notepad, save as... "tweak.reg", make sure to chose file type "all files" so it does not save as a text file! then copy/paste these tweaks into the notepad (i'd do it all at once)... then save it.. make sure not .txt... then double click the file, say yes, restart pc... it may be noticible, maybe not to noticable for uo...

also, i dont remeber if i said... update drivers at guru3d.com .

1. ADSL is better (faster) than cable. :)
2. Your antivirus and/or firewall still may greatly reduce ping times.

this is an old reply... i was hoping people would see my new post... so i mean they may no longer look at this (the original poster)...

but i agree... disable av while playing... also try disabling firewall... but if you are nuked on a daily basis like me, it might cause issues.

well a registery file makes changes to the system registry. This example is for tweaking, so you need to copy /paste it exactly or it wont work (or even allow you)..

basically its some more efficient windows xp settings for modern systems with 2.0ghz or faster pcs and more then 512mb of ram...

it disables unneeded junk like dr. watson, and also sets windows to use your memory more efficiently and get rid of some settings that bloat windows.

if you want, make a backup of your registery first in regedit (export it)... then import this.

basically, windows xp was made for 1ghz pcs with 256mb of ram... this makes it so you have better then default settings. this works bast for faster machines which is odd, since optimizing uo is probably not needed as much. its worth a shot if you want to tweak your pc:)
