How to edit and upload Images!

Here you go.

Step 1: Take your screenshot
This can be done by two (2) ways. You can A.) use the "print screen" button
on your keyboard, open up paint, and paste it. or B.) use the UO screenshot,
where you dig through the screenshots and open it in paint.

Step 2: How to begin editing
Click the "Select" button on Paint, while your image is in it. This will bring up a
"cross hair" like cursor. Don't go crying to the forums, I'll teach you how to
use it in step 3.

Step 3: How to crop your picture
Go to a corner of where you want your finished picture to be at, Take that
and drag it over what you would like to see and release it. This will bring a
box around everything you covered. Once you do this right click inside the
box and hit "copy".

Step 4: How to make the image you cropped show up
Open up a brand new paint document, make the box smaller then your image.
Right click and go to "paste". Save this image by naming it something you
wont ever forget. This will look a heck of a lot like the following.

Step 5: Go to a hosting website!
I'm going to show you how to upload using Image Shack.

Step 6: Getting the image from your computer to be ready to uplaod
At the imageshack main page, go to "browse". This will open up a box to your
default image folder. Do NOT freak out. Step 7 is comming to the rescue!

Step 7: What to do with this confusing menu!
This menu shows you all the pictures in your folder. Find the one you are very
proud of for making and click it once.

Step 8: Hosting it!!!
You will see a button called "Host it" a little below the "browse" button. Click
this button.

Step 9: Holy Crappers!! What link do i choose?
Scared you eh? Don't worry about it! It's very easy.. All you have to do is
select the bottom link! There are titles of the images on the right side. For
the one you want you will see "Direct link to image".

Step 10: Copying that link
Most of you know how to copy, you can highlight it and click it or you can
highlight it and press Ctrl + C.

Step 11: and Tags
This is a hard part, Go to the "select a new thread, or Reply to an existing
thread". Once you are here you need to enter in 11 characters that are vital
for any Image posted on forums. Type and . Put your cursor in
between the ] and the [.
Ex. |
Once you do this. Paste the link you copied from image shack in between the and brackets.

Step 12: Almost done!
Add any text you wish to show with your awesome picture and hit "post".

Step 13: Viola! You're done!
You can now sit back and look at your awesome image you posted on the
forums! Now it's official, You are an Image Poster Pimp (IPP)!

Re: How to edit and upload Images!

Orr if you don't want to "crop" the image by selecting a portion and you wish to use the entire screen...but obviously an image of say... 1024x768 is much to large..what you would do in paint is click on "Image" from the top tool bar. And from that drop down bar click on "Stretch/Skew" And where it says Stretch Horizontal / Vertical, fill in a %. If using a full screen shot...then a size of about 30-50% can sometimes come out at a decent size. Just make sure that you use the same % for both vertical and horizontal so that the image doesn't become distorted.

you can also use photobucket.com as an image host it's very similar -- nicer interface imo. You have to register then you can store images there and link to them.
