[VALIDATION NEEDED] Event mounts keep using follower slots after vanishing

Well, apparently the phantom mount slot glitch has struck again. If it's still around, then perhaps now's the best time for it to be fixed... Certainly it's something that one of us volunteers could handle:
  • Behavior on Demise: If your character is riding a Halloween event mount, (and possibly logged out) and the server is updated to remove all such mounts, the mount vanishes... But still takes up the follower slot it had occupied. Once this happens, only a staff member can correct the character's follower slots.
  • Behavior on OSI: Although I don't know of any limited-duration mounts on OSI, I think it's pretty safe to say that anything working properly would release the used follower slot upon vanishing!
  • Supporting Documentation: None needed; it's a clear glitch that has apparently persisted for a couple years now.
  • Changes needed: The glitch could be happening one of two ways: it could either be in the serialize/deserialize part of the mount's scripts, or it could be attached to another method. Chances are it's the former, so the script for serialization/deserialization needs to be edited to properly update the (ex-)rider's follower slots upon the mount's deletion.
  • Code Questions: What files ARE used by the event mounts on Demise? Do they include special script files that are beyond those used for RunUO? If so, what are they, since fixing this glitch would require access to them.

GM control caused this situation, it would not happen normally, setting this to invalid.
