Castle Giveaway!

I've been contemplating what to do with a Castle I confiscated in game a while ago and I've decided that to increase the traffic in the UOGamers internet relay chat (IRC) room I'm going to hand out the Castle to a random IRC'er sometime between now and the end of the month.

If you dont know how to use IRC I suggest the following information to get started:

IRC Client: mIRC: Internet Relay Chat client
IRC Server: irc.runuo.com
IRC Channel: #uogamers

I'm sure someone will make a good guide on how to get on IRC (first one to do it complete with pics gets a mil in game).

So - Get on IRC :)

irc://irc.runuo.com/uogamers

Ryan, I hope you plan on doing some sort of anti-afk, otherwise you'll have hundreds of afkers in here just hoping they get picked.

1.) Google Search IRC
2.) Click First Link
3.) Download execute file
4.) Check run program at end of installation
5.) Enter nick name
6.) Click in game link provided by GM

Yeah, does the random person have to be active in the IRC or just a random name regardless if they've been afk the whole time or not?

Since I use mIRC

The first thing to do is obviously to download mIRC. mIRC: Internet Relay Chat client

After downloading mIRC, the next set would be to install it. It's a simple process, and takes just a couple of minutes.

Now that you've gotten mIRC downloaded and installed, its time to start up mIRC, and get it set up so you can connect to the network we use, as well as the channel.

The first thing you will see when you start up mIRC, is the mIRC Options page.


IRC Server: irc.runuo.com
IRC Channel: #uogamers

Click Connect to Server, if you didnt enter a default channel, you can type "/join #uogamers"

DONT FORGET TO REGISTER YOUR NICK!!!!!

I highly suggest Pidgin. I use it for aim/msn/icq and irc. Everything combined into one lil package, and its really easy to use irc.

To connect to UOGamers IRC, download the program then run it. Then go to Servers, and press ADD:




Type in the Server information, and click Add.




Next, highlight the server and click Select...




Then, type in your nickname, and click Connect...




Once connected to the server, type in uogamers, and click Join, shown here:




Welcome to UOGamers IRC
