Re: Battle for Britain

Battle for Britain information updated:
Defenders free Britain Moongate (Dec 16, 3:30pm) - Victory
Defenders free Mountain Pass (Unchallengeable till Dec 31)

The Defenders of Britain free another region from Invading Hordes control.
The Britain Public Moongate is no longer in blockade.
Defenders of Britain retain Initiative to announce the next attack.
The next Battle will be for control of the Mountain Pass region.
If this last region can be freed, Invading Hordes will be expelled for the first time.

Impressive strategies on both sides. The winner this day was the team of trained Dire Wolves brought onto the field by Iron Wolf.

[fixed]

Orcs entered Skara Brae and rounded up scores of Rangers. They were positioned at the back of the battle field and the Defenders of Britain were to be lured into a hail of arrows. For all intents and purposes, it worked. So, be on the lookout for this similar strategy again.

The assault power of the Dire Wolves backed by Wolf Clan archery broke Orc formations and prevented them from acting cohesively. The rest was a bloody mop-up job of the Ranger Snaga still clinging to the will to fight.

Updates:
Local holidays have caused a delay in battle orders now emboldening Invading Hordes and giving them a chance to openly challenge the dominance of Defenders of Britain.

Digatalas, being swayed by the whispers of darkness, has joined the forces of evil in preparation for becoming full Undead.

Updated:
The commander of Invading Hordes has issued a challenge. Defenders of Britain now have seven days to respond with an attack or will loose the initiative.

[Edit]
The battle will occur on Saturday February 2nd, time to be announced...

As is standard, Invaders are to choose the field of battle.

Region A is slightly restrictive:
A, Mountain Pass is the gap where the Western Road that leads from Britain to Yew cuts through the mountain. The region starts on the Britain side of the mountain inside the pass and extends all the way to the Yew crossroads, not just the first one. (That is the Skara Brae crossroads.) Road Regions include only the brown hard pack of the road surface itself and not the clearings on either side.

The time for the Battle for Britain on Saturday February 2nd is at 7:30PM EST. Defenders, prepare yourselves for battle - don your warpaint, and sharpen your blades.

"We shall show mercy, but we shall not ask for it." -Sir Winston Churchill

Be ready!! All those Defenders fighters who wish to prepare may gather at the Wolf Village 15 minutes to one half hour prior to the battle.

-Chieftess Silver Wolf, War Leader - Wolf Clan

The battlefield will most likely be in the mountain pass. Invading Hordes have to mark the limits of the battlefield with Hay Bales and it has to be at least two screens wide. For barricades, use crates or something other than bales to distinguish them from the edges of the battlefield. Thank you.

Re: Battle for Britain

The grip of fear of the Invading Hordes on the last region has been broken. All that remains now is to keep vigilant and wait the coming attacks as they try to regain control. For the time being, the road from Britain to Yew is finally re-opened.

To celebrate the entire Wolf Clan family turned out to ride together on patrol without fear of being ambushed on the road. The new era of freedom will last as long as Defender of Britain can maintain their solidarity and keep from loosing control of the mountain pass again.

Re: Battle for Britain

The two ways to join Battle for Britain are, join a participating guild or join DRP and sign up as an individual participant.

Not all DRP members participate in these Battle Events. And to be allowed on the Battlefield and be affected by the consequences of the results participants have to be signed up on the the Battle for Britain Official Sign-Up Sheet

Sign-Up will close 24-hours before a scheduled Battle, so there will not be any last-second changes to the roster. Those who can be listed here are, individuals who are direct members of DRP and DRP alliance guilds. We do not accept individuals from ally guilds because the entire guild has to have allegiance to one side or another.

If you join a guild that fights in the Battles, that does not mean you are required to fight. A guild leader can choose to enter their guild in Battle for Britain and not fight, but by declaring allegiance for Invading Hordes or Defenders of Britain their guild members are subject to all the RP implications as other participants. The DRP alliance leader guild is the only guild with split allegiance, as their members sign up as individuals.

Joining one of the participating guilds is the fastest, but may not be possible if none of your characters match the RP theme of any particular guild. For Bloodclan, you need to be an Orc - for Wolf Clan, you need an "Indian" - for Undead, you need Necromancy and so on.

To join DRP there are no specific character requirements because it is open to unattached RP characters. The only restriction is that your character have an acceptable RP type name. The exact criteria for an acceptable RP name is sort of vauge, but a name like ass-fig would not be acceptable.

More on that can be found under: DRP Quick Reference.

Best way to join DRP is to register on RPring.com, post your character information, arrange a meeting with a DRP emissary to join - then your in a good position to join the Battles.

Characters that join DRP and only show up for Battle events are welcome. But keep in mind, emissaries may not like having to re-invite them every week or two if they resign from DRP in-between Battles.
