Can we nominate people to recieve these awards?

IMO, Nosferatu has helped out sooo many people. Even though he is a long term vet, he still takes the time to help out new players. He was one of the main driving forces that got me started on Demise and kept me here. He also doesn't try to scam good deals out of new players, by scam I mean trying to work up a deal for an arty that is horribly lopsided because the new player doesn't know the actual value of the item. His trades are always fair

Although he doesn't play often anymore, I still think he deserves to be recgonized for his contributions to the Demise community.

Just my $0.02

BTW, this is an excellent idea. Way to go Asayre8!

I'd honestly like to see these presented to people at events with other people..

Like do it one story night at komodo tavern this would be a great thing to do because at the end of the day its a medal of recogition for helping the community..
Why not announce the receiver where the other community members meet?

If people can make it they can be given it there..
If they cant make it, there name can be anounced...

Maybe even look at making a sealed book with the current medal holders that can be on display on a petestal at luna bank or something...

...Just some other ideas to further promote the good deeds of these helpful people :D

Not only am I flattered that I am to receive one of these awards I have a few thoughts -

1. I have only been playing Demise a short while (yes, I do actually play it in addition to the OSI shards!!!!) I have been very impressed at the administration and community.

2. I think the idea of public presentation is a very good one

3. This is kind of strange, but why not use a building like the Brit Library or build a new museum of sorts (where you could even do the presentation) and create statues/busts of the individuals with a little book of information on them.... for more permanent recognition. I personally would not need an item for my paperdoll - just something I could potentially lose *chuckles* But perhaps something to just honor....

But... aside from my lil 3 pointers thingees.... I think this is a great idea and if we are allowed to nominate, I will surely keep my eyes and ears open when on Demise for those who show a lot of respect to the community.

Good Idea....

and again - I am thoroughly flattered :)

That's what vet rewards are for ;-)

Siobhan, the items are, basically you can't lose them unless you purposefully say "Yew, I want to delete this omg!" (well, it's a gump, but still), You can't lose it from death and such. It's actually sometihng that goes in the Talisman slot.

As far as the reasoning for a item on the paperdoll, It does a few thigns actually,

It makes it so peopel can choose if they want to have it displayed or not on their own, it allows them to show it off wherever they want, noone can impersonate 'em, and, I think it's just generally cooler ;)

If we can nominate or at least give admins a "heads up" to good people on the shard, I would like to nominate Mythos to get one. He is genuwinely the nicest guy I've ever met on this shard. He has never turned anyone down for help and is willing to go out on a limb to help others. Playin on Demise was kinda sad when he took vacation, but lots are glad he is back. :)

Prohaps there should be a sticky thread made in this area to keep tabs on whos been presented with these rewards that a MOD can edit to append any new additions.

This way everyone will be able to see who the trusted people are in the game.

Then you only display the amulet on your trust worthy character :)
Thus the name would be for your trusted character :D
