If you've just reached 250k, I'd put it toward raising your other characters; you'll want to have a diverse set so that you can partake in each part of the game. First step would be to buy a house, if you don't already have one; for what you have, I'd most recommend the 18x18 3-story customizable plot. It's 179k to start, so you won't be able to really afford to customize it yet, but it'll give you a place you can come back to and work on once you do get more money. Spend some of the rest for supplies to work skills up on secondary characters, particularly ones that can make you money later, like a tailor and a scribe.
