Here's an Idiot's Guide to Candle of Love Event:
1.) Visit SinVrael the Gargoyle
2.) Visit Anne the Flame Keeper in Yew's bank (Empath Abbey)
3.) Vist the following shrines, and say their mantra to accept each quest
Compassion: Mu
Justice: Beh
Sacrifice: Cah
4.)Go to Despise (Where Barracoon Champ is), (Despise Runebook at Runes Galore, Ogre Lords 3)
4. a.) Kill "A Large Ogre Lord", Obtain "heart darkened by Despise"
5.) Go to Wrong East Prison, Double click on the dusty skeleton
5. a.) Go upstairs to the East side, run tot he back, there is a "door" in the back wall you have to dclick to get through to the shadow chest on the ground, dclick chest to obtain journal, turn back into dusty skeleton
5. b.) Go to Court of Truth, to the records keeper dude.
5. c.) Go BACK to Wrong, second level, MIDDLE (North) section, Kill "The Executioner"
5. d.) Go BACK to Court of Truth to turn in.
WARNING: Proceeding with Questline will cause 30 point drop in highest stat!!!! (Must be regained through normal gameplay)
6.) Go to Covetous Dragon Level 4 or wtf ever it's called, walk up to dragon, say "Cah" twice. Obtain tear.
7.) Toggle each of the three items as quest items
8.) Go back to EACH of the shrines, and repeat their Mantra.
Compassion: Mu
Justice: Beh
Sacrifice: Cah
9.) Now you have: Tear of Sacrifice, Heart of Compassion, Quill of Justice
10.) Go back to Empath Abbey, run west past the quest giver, buy a bottle of ale and a candle.
11.) Go back to Anne, turn in, accept, toggle ale, turn in, accept, toggle Virtue Items, turn in, Accept.
12.) Run South out of Empath Abbey, the first building on the WEST side of the road is "Ye Olde Winery", go inside to the back room, find the loose floorboard.
13.) Complete the Maze.

1.) Visit SinVrael the Gargoyle
2.) Visit Anne the Flame Keeper in Yew's bank (Empath Abbey)
and obtain the Purifying Light quest then complete the Tear of sacrifice part and just trade over the tear to the char you want to complete the quest with.

im so tempted to use the start candle i spawned with for extra sentimental value

I got the quests, went to do the wrong part and when i double click the dusty skeleton, the prisoners ghost says to me "I have nothing for you at this time." What am i doing wrong?

check your quest log on the actual paperdoll, it's actually kinda easier to understand than the guide.

just look at the Required item part, and the Turn in at part

just use the guide for the mantras and the quest giver locations

okay, quest log says i need to obtain executioners rusty pen. I found the executioners box, when i try to open it says "you really shouldn't open strange chests". I also found the excectioner upstairs and have killed him 5-6 times and he isn't dropping anything. I tried double clicking the dusty bones and the ghost still tells me. "I have nothing for you at this time."

Did you go to justice shrine and say Beh?

Yes, that's how i obtained the quest. I spoke the mantra at all three shrines to obtain all 3 of the quests. I have obtained the heart blackened by demise already.
