There are always going to be pockets of lag from time to time when you are on a shard with 500 other people online, from time to time I even feel lag but I cannot say (except back when we had the SP1 issue) it is ever worse than OSI
I will look into moving the game server over to Rackspace.net which is one of the better bandwidth providers around, of course it costs 10x as much but let me look into it.
