Trade gump not showing (7.0.45+ issue)

With client patch 7.0.45, OSI has changed the trade gump (old version, new version) to accommodate for their currency overhaul. The trade window will still work on UOGamers shards under normal circumstances. There is, however, an old bug that may cause your trade gumps to become invisible after updating your client.

The easy fix: Run your Razor or UOSteam as administrator.

The problem occurring for most players is that their client is loading an old gump art file (specifically, gumpartLegacyMUL.uop), which does not contain the new trade gump graphic. This problem originates from the game patcher changing a while ago, which caused a duplicate gumpartLegacyMUL.uop file (and sometimes others) to be created in the VirtualStore folder if not ran as administrator. The updated patcher since then always asks to run as administrator, and therefore always updates the correct file.

If you don't run Razor or UOSteam as administrator, the game will prefer any files located in VirtualStore (which are outdated) over the actual game files. The fix is therefore to run Razor or UOSteam as administrator, or to remove the duplicate files.

To locate the duplicate files, first browse to your UO folder. If any duplicate files exist, you will see a "Compatibility Files" button at the top:

Clicking it will take you to the corresponding VirtualStore folder (which may be named differently if your Windows is in another language):

The actual fix: If you see any UOP files in the VirtualStore folder (specifically gumpartLegacyMUL.uop for this issue), delete or rename them. You then do not need to run your Razor or UOSteam as administrator.

If there are no duplicate files and you still experience this bug, then your actual gump art file may be corrupt. To fix this, you can run the game patcher again and enable "Perform full file check".
