house placement tool bug..

I hope I'm not the only one that has had this happen before. Whenever I try to place a plot, the cursor is nowhere near the plot and it messes up where I'm trying to place a house like so:

Does anyone know of a fix for this?

This is a client bug. Put your play window in the upper left corner while trying to place and the issue is resolved.

I've had issues placing houses where the whole screen goes black?

Yeah that's another client bug. If you keep the house preview to the north of your character you should be able to avoid it
