Required Files
In order to play Hybrid, you will need:
- An Ultima Online client
- Razor
- .NET® Framework 2.0
Step 1
- Install Ultima Online. If you do not have a working copy of UO, you may download it here. (If this link goes down, go here and select "Classic Client".)
- Patch the client by clicking UOPatch.exe in your UO folder.
- Allow your client to patch to 7.0.21.1 (or to 7.0.23.1 if you don't mind snow everywhere). At the time of writing (June 4, 2012), versions up to 7.0.23.1 are fully compatible with Hybrid and Razor. Patching beyond this version causes minor Razor compatibility issues, but will still allow you to connect to Hybrid.
If you wish to patch to a specific client version, you should interrupt the patcher when it downloads the patch that comes after that. You can use the "Cancel" button in the patcher for this. After doing this, remove any partially downloaded patch files (*.rtp) in the client's "patch" folder.
If you're on Windows XP and you experience client crashes when recalling or going through moongates in crowded areas, only patch your client to 7.0.8.2. If you intend on connecting using Sallos instead of Razor, also only patch to 7.0.8.2. You can download the older installer you will need from here. (Click "Direct Download Link" below the green button.)
If you're on Windows Vista or 7, don't forget to run the patcher with administrator privileges. Right-click -> Run as administrator.
If the patcher will not run fully, open UO using UO.exe (also found in the UO folder). This will bring up your client without Razor and it should immediately try to patch further. Finish patching and close the client.

Step 2
Install the .NET® Framework 2.0 if you don't have it already. Most Windows installations have this pre-installed, and it would be located in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.xxxxx.

Step 3
Download and install Razor, available for download here. (Click 'Razor' under Downloads on the right.)
Razor is a UO utility allowing the client to bind to unofficial servers. It can be used to connect to RunUO and Sphere shards, as well as the official Electronic Arts ones. In addition, Razor provides a large number of features to ease the micro-management of UO. Those familiar with UOAssist will be impressed by the added features of this program.
Connecting
Open up Razor, and you will be greeted by the welcome screen. Make sure the settings are similar to those shown above.
You will need to direct Razor to your client if it fails to locate the client on its own. Use the "UO Data Directory" setting for this, and point to the directory containing client.exe.
Once you have it set up, click the "Make These Settings Default" button.
UOGamers: Hybrid can be chosen from the server drop-down menu, or you can choose to enter the information manually:
Server: login.uogamers.com
Port: 2593
If you experience high latency on our server, you may also try connecting to the alternative route address:
Server: login2.uogamers.com
Port: 2593
If your firewall blocks connections on port 2593, you may also connect to the server on port 80.
Once you have everything entered, click "Okay". This will load your UO client and Razor will switch to the gameplay interface.
Logging In
To log in, simply pick a username and password and log in. Your account will be automatically created, provided the account name is not in use already. If the account name you choose is already in use by someone else, you will get the "invalid credentials" error. You are allowed 4 accounts per IP address.
Once you have logged in, you will come to shard selection. There is only one shard on the Hybrid server ("UOGamers"), so either double click it or click the green arrow to continue.
Next is character creation. Here you can customize the looks and name of your first character. The selected race should be "Human", as the other races are not available on Hybrid. Please choose a name that is not hurting or offensive. Continue to set up your character trade.
It's recommended you choose your trade using "Advanced" and pick skills manually for more freedom, but you can also use the classic preset templates - warrior, mage or blacksmith. The other newer classes (samurai, ninja, paladin and necromancer) cannot be played on Hybrid.
When you have completed your character, continue on to log in.
You are now a member of the Hybrid community.
