Since the upgrade to the new guild system, guild stones have lost their function as guild management tools, and now serve as simple decorative house add-ons. They can be chopped with an axe to turn them into a deed, which can then be used to replace them, like most other house add-ons.
The guild name displayed on them will only be retained if the guild it belonged to is still in existence.
How do I (re)move a guild stone?
