| Banksitter | Banksitter is a slang term used to define players who spend their time at a bank, usually West Britain Bank. Many of these players are wealthy/successful in game and use the banksitting character to show off their valued items and chat with friends. Although they will occasionally partake in trading, they are not to be confused with merchants in the banking area, trying to sell their wares or promote their shop. |
| Newbie | Newbie is the term given to new players. Newbie is used for both players new to UO and players new to a specific shard. Newbie is often used incorrectly for the term noob. |
| Noob | An insulting slang meaning an experienced player with newbie gaming skills; an unskilled player. |
| Perma-gray | To be permanently gray, but show as blue. These players can be attacked without guard interference. Thieves in the thieves guild are an example of a perma-gray player. |
| Rare | The common name for an item not obtainable through normal game play. These items may come from staff handouts, events or from specialty donations. |
| Res Killing | Res killing is the act of repeatedly killing another player over and over, giving them no chance to restock or even heal from the previous death. |
