Archery Special Ability
archery sould have a ability like other weapon
Fencing = para blow
macing = crushing blow
sword= conc blow
archery= huh none
they sould be able to do like double shot? or dismount ppl with only heavy crossbow....
i think it good idea or maybe not...
sry englsih not my first language hehe!

Dismount at the same rate as the other special moves would unbalance PVP. There's bola's for that as it is.
Furthermore, the special moves for fencing, macing, and swords can be used in PVM. What rides a steed in PVM?
Armor Piercing shot or Moving Shot special that takes dex or something to use might be interesting.

great idea! and i'd prolly say moving shot should be the addition, since dismount WOULD be ill. Maybe a Blinding Shot, and dude's screen goes black for 3 secs!! Ima take this opportunity to suggest, as well, that a few more macing weaps get crushing blows, since last i checked only war hammers were getting em. If you can get a concussion from hallys/bards/ANY axes, would seem to be slightly imbalanced to limit macing to war hammers...

I like the idea of armor peircing shots.
I've seen a dozen archers firing at a guy in full plate and he barely took damage.

Gnarled staves, Quarter staves? I thought those gave you crushing blow as well.

The war hammer is a two handed weapon like the other weapons that get a special move. The staves, especially the quarterstaff is a very fast weapon. They don't currently do crushing blows. Might be pretty unbalancing if they did.
Alot of weapons do very little damage to a person in full plate, or with invulnerable leather armor and arch protection up. I can see why some people thought it would be fair to have armor that negated spell damage.
Weapon melee complexity seems pretty lacking in this era of UO, for good or ill.

i always thought it would be sweet to have archery be able to do random "headshot" disabling spell cast not movement and cause a greater chance to miss in melee for a duration

Make it like a Quincy ability, using 50 mana for a magic extra-strong shot (limit break !) yeah that was a bleach reference

I say forget the special ability, and make it so you can shoot while riding at half your normal firing speed. Then if you stop you shoot at normal firing speed.
