GM house auction of confiscated houses

Instead of just leaving confiscated houses as ageless or dropping them, maybe they should be auctioned off at some special gm "police auction".
This might not be a good idea for small houses/plots, but for the larger houses or houses with a lot of items in them I think it could be a fun thing to do.
Obviously you wouldn't be allowed to check what's in containers etc.


If the gms delete the gold from the sold houses it would also act as a gold sink, not a big one, but still

i actually like this idea alot. maybe have a whole event with a moongate that has options to go to each house and a brief description. like have a moongate that works like a realtor. then just simply have an event where they bid on each house.

Good idea, but I think it should be done on the forums not in game. Maybe you can purchase a rune book from an npc that has all the current auctions in it.

I think all the items and house design should be removed though.

How would you place your bids?

Can you only place a bid if thine have that much in your bank account?
Or
Do you drop a check onto the 'realtor'? (If this is the case if you are out bid do you get your money back?, I'd vote no... you've got to place a new, higher bid)

I get really tired of seeing great spots, houses, etc sitting there ageless.

that would be awesome tbh. and it really would be a great gold sink. i say you leave them customized, with all the items but lock it up good and tight so no one can get inside and look around, then they are bid on via the forums, or an in game auction system
(maybe just a gump that looks like the poker gump, but it's for you to fill in your bid, and it would tell you your bank balance and the current high bid, and the ending time of the auction)

some of those houses could probably pull in a pretty penny, which would in turn eventually balance out the economy quite a bit.
