Guild Alliances -
06-14-2008, 11:10 AM
Reiterated from the original thread made about this:
I know we've all had the problem of wanting to be in all our friends guilds, and we all know there are guilds who are willing to work together against a particular enemy or just anyone in general; like allies. I know OSI had something like this and I think it could would really well on Hybrid. Features: Alliance Chat - like a guild chat, except a different text color and initials of the guild who is speaking, appears with the character name. This would help for those people you want to team up with in other guilds who don't use AIM/Vent/Etc to talk with or plan on events you plan on working together in. Also; if a person was looking to go hunting, pking, taming, whatever and they were looking for people to go and instead of hitting up AIM, he could send an guild and alliance chat message for those who are active on UO team up with him. Allies Attackable - like guildmates, an ally would appear green and could be attackable anywhere. This would really benefit guilds who wanted to spar up on their skills with another guild without having to worry about counts, lose fame or karma. Some guilds are really small, so sparring with just themselves may not be enough, and working with more people is always a bigger benefit than with just two. How It Would Work: Much like a war invitation, the either GM would have to send the ally invitation and the other would have to accept it: of course, like a war invitation a guild message would be sent on the new information if the GM didn't discuss it with them at first. For Those Who Don't Like This: Well, there's always a nay-sayer, but even if this was implemented, it doesn't make it necessary to have allies. If you're thinking, "Five guilds ally, team up and gank WTF?" well the fact is, they probably do that anyway this just makes it a tad bit easier. Besides, if you're so 1337, you should be able outlast. Original Thread with Comments: http://www.uogamers.com/forum/genera...ld-allies.html ----------------------- Some other things to consider: Along with this, I was thinking we could utilize the "guild" button on our paperdoll. Perhaps we could remotely access the guild stone? View roster, charter and set titles. I would suggest recruiting as well, but I think it's good to show the new recruit the stone and how it works, but it would be nice to have a "news" entry part on the stone or guild button for GMs, that a guildmate can view just by clicking their guild button. Also, what would you think have giving GM powers to more than one person? Like if you merged with another guild, and wanted to share GM powers with their main character? I think this would be beneficial to the GM so that if they are offline and someone needs to be kicked or added, the second GM can step up and take action. I almost made a whole new suggestion thread for this, but I figured this could all go into one big package. Guilds is a major part of the UO experience and I think all of this could be beneficial to guilds, large or small. ![]() http://www.heartbreakers13.com |
