Factions were the shit when like 75 points lead the leaderboard. But points will always inflate unless they find a better way to handle the point system.

Maybe not allowing new joiners to factions go down to -6 points. Have everyone start with 1 point and if u die u lose the point and go to zero. If someone kills u when u have 0 points they dont get a point. Eventually some people will start gettin mad points.

There would only be as many points out there as there was faction players. I dunno, its not perfect but i think its a start of an idea

WKD would have to disagree We never recruited.

So what do we get when the honor dissipates and nobody cares any more? Bola tamers, do-whatever-it-takes mentalities, RIDICULOUSLY inflated faction points, alchy dexxers with pride, a lack of "elite" guilds with actual skill, ganked setups, and 75 member guilds without an ounce of skill to any member.

Hybrid has been dead for a year now, if you ask me. I quit shortly after I saw the PvP deteriorate to nothing and have been watching since. It's time to play again, but I don't know how long I'll last, because I'll stay onscreen and I have a feeling I'll be dying a lot. Because the game isn't fun without honor and I won't play without it. It's a disadvantage, but it made the game fun.

So you can expect a gate out from me, or a fair 1v1, and I won't even expect it back from you. Join me if you like, though. It's fun playing for honor. That's what separates the vets from the 06er trash =)
I feel your concept is correct, the pvp is not the same as it once was, your analysis and solution I feel are only half correct, and will most likely be ineffective. It is vastly agreed upon by the player base that change is the devil. I feel without game change the play style changes. The reason why lame ass tactics and off screening were not as prevalent on OSI shards is because the game style changed and you always had to adapt and alter play style. To most players familiar with old school OSI (97-AoS), change sucked, even I agreed, and it felt like every change made the server worse and came too soon. If you have been playing uog for the last 4 years with no change you can see how the play style has changed, and I feel has gotten worse. Players like Anton are all "gung ho" because they haven't been playing uog the past four years to see this, get his opinion in four years if he's still around. The only changes made to uog have been changes that strengthened the players, and created more invincibility. I feel this has brought forth the "go to the extreme to get away" play style, and the lame tactics to get a kill. It is just my opinion but I feel the only thing that could remotely change the play style is change in the game style, and if that won't come then the server will not change. I am not suggesting something as drastic as AoS, but almost anything that could change the play style I would be for. It would be nice to have high level staff and developer involvement again to implement or code some changes, but even that has gone away.

100 points back = 1000 points today. Same shit. 1 dollar a gallon of gas. 4 dollars now. Same thing unless you still makes minimum wages flipping burgers. People that doesn't find this game fun are the people that dies 20 times a day and still suck at it. About EQ/MS rolling deep, man you guys haven't seen deep yet. You're complaining already at a group of 10-20 man, how are you guys gonna compete in Darkfall? There won't be houses to hide in because i'll wreck that shit with seige weapons.

PVP = The pvp level has gone up. The ones that are whining about it still doesn't know what the fuck is going on when he/she is fielding. Before it takes 4 seconds to kill a person; explode eb. Now it takes 1. It's just like counterstrike. One wrong move and you'll get a headshot in the face. So my advice, learn to play and pay attention to your surroundings.

Group pvp = requires a good battlecommander. Your group wipes or not really depends on he/she. Choose your battlecommander wisely now.

Agreed. That's a good idea. I definitely think that the system needs to be revamped. It's just ridiculous how pointless points have become.

Yeah I'm glad WKD is around honestly, despite personally disliking your play style (not a fan of blue pvpers) you still retain some ethic of what a guild is supposed to be like.

I'm not bitching about skill here, or asking for changes (though the point system would be cool), or calling for nerfs.

I'm just saying what made this shard the most fun for me was the competitive aspect that was so rampant not two years ago. Now it's nothing.
