As for the pvp being like pre AoS, I think not even close. Part of the problem is the vast wealth in the economy making it possible for people to go out with like 80 potions at a time. Part of the problem is the mixing of different rulesets from varying time periods. I don't ever remember alchemy being used in so many people's templates. Did GM alchemy even give a bonus to damage UO:R? I honestly cannot remember that ever being the case. Maybe it just goes back to my first point of wealth. Lastly, runics. Period.
Nah, you are correct. I think Siege was the only shard that implemented the alchemy damage bonus to explosion pots.

Hybrid, as the name states, does blend a few things together but it's not to the better (IMO). Still, like others have stated, it's the current best Player server out there but I credit that to the large population. No one to play with = no fun. It's why I'm not on Divinity.

With 4 clients, ultra-fast skill gain, and the addition of a donation system it makes this server far easier to amount wealth than we were used too. Plus due to the skill gain people can easily GM skills that were not easily GMable back in the day.

But to answer the OP question, No (False!). PvP is nothing like it was on OSI during this era. There's a lot of different factors to take into account when comparing them but PvP doesn't play out at all the same. Was the mana drain/vamp spells used at all on OSI? I don't remember anyone ever even casting them. INT or Inscription difference? I know people here use it to negate reflect but I never remember it being used on OSI. Maybe after I quit?

Certainly, this is what I was saying. My point is that the vast wealth changes the dynamics of PvP by putting more of a focus on the items one possesses.

Exactly! And UO's greatest strength was it's lack of item-focus PvP. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying PvP here is like WoW, EQ, or anything where items mean everything but on OSI not every person had GM Tailors, Smiths, Alchemists, and Tamers to make/repair/obtain magic loot/wands/ and most of all - create 60 potions per death.

Most people carried GM weapons on OSI. Here it's Vanqs and lamer 2-hit runic Hallys/Axes. Erm.

The question this thread brought up is "UOG PvP exactly like OSI Pre-AoS PvP?"

The answer is no. We arn't here complaining and ridiculuing the server because it isn't the same. We are pointing out what makes them different. And many of the previous posts explain why.

?

If everyone has the items then how is it an item focus for pvp?
That didnt even make sense.
All it means is if there wasnt wealth.. those who did spend all their time taming, getting drags and mares up and being able to afford the alchemist would be better off at pvp because THEY HAVE THE ITEMS..

You guys make absolutely no sense...

Everyone being rich brings the game down to skill because EVERYONE can have the same items..

well put

also, AoS killed UO. ToA killed DAoC
