Connect to mIRC the easy way!

Ok, here is the easy way to connect to IRC.

First download the client from mIRC: Internet Relay Chat client

I'm going to assume that you know how to at least click the download the link and install a file, (after all, you guys at least know how to install UO and razor)

After you have mIRC installed you're simply going to open it up, a window asking you to register will pop up with a picture of khaled (the guy who designed mIRC), prompting you to register mIRC, simply hit continue



(note, after 30 days your copy of mIRC will expire, however even after it expires it will not disable any features of mIRC, you'll simply have to deal with the annoying pop up gump.)

After you continue, you're going to hit the options button on the top, looks kind like a little notepad with a hammer (if it doesn't pop up automatically being a first time mIRC user)



Click on the word "Connect" at the top and just fill out the information pertaining to you.

You don't have to use a valid e-mail address, and no please don't use my nick, put whatever you want as long as its not racist.

Alternative basically means that if the original nickname you chose is taken, mIRC will resort to an alternative nickname. If that name is taken you'll simply have to pick a new one.



Once you've got everything filled out hit ok and your screen should look like this:



Simply type /server irc.runuo.com and press enter and you will connect to the server

After you connect, you'll have a little popup window that says "favorites"


just type UOGamers into the box and press join and voila, you're now chatting with the majority of the server.


IRC Commands

Changing your nick:
/nick nickhere

Joining a channel
/join #channelnamehere (make sure you include the #

Viewing a list of channels on the server
/list

Connecting to another server while still being connected to irc.runuo.com
/server -m irc.servername.com
This command will just open up another server in the same mIRC window

Registering your nickname
/msg nickserv register passwordhere emailhere
ex:
/msg nickserv register MYPASSWORD bk@gmail.com

Sending a private message to another user:
Either double click their name in the channel or type
/msg nickhere message here

Emotes:
/me
ex:
/me is having a heart attack

Sending a notice to another user to gain their attention
/notice nickhere messagehere


To type with colors, just press Ctrl + K and select a color youd like to use
