vertical/horizontal pet traps: technical exploit or 'part of the game'?

I'm talking about the ones where people have a square isolated in their house for pets and the only entrance is a "monster walk" square (previous sallos version feature), making it impossible to follow them on the teleport.

this has always struck me as more of a technical quirk that just about everybody is using nowadays, and serves the shard no benefit. I believe that many would agree with me, and if so, i believe the coding to change this wouldn't be that big of a hassle. please discuss.

oh and no, i didn't just have one of my pets trapped.

I'd rather have the mare housed than killed if it's a good one. Considering people ball beetles nowadays...

Re: vertical/horizontal pet traps: technical exploit or 'part of the game'?

Many people think these little things are "exploits" just because they weren't ever originally implemented for the reasons they are being used. I think it's amazing despite how well this game is put together, with every little thing thought out... that we can all be creative enough to come up with ways to get what we want. The game can't be easy, or there is no point. You're going to lose some pets. This is exactly how I felt about the ID-skill on a house sign. That wasn't it's original purpose, but for an almost useless skill (since we have ID wands) it gave people a real way to time a house legitimately. Anyway, enough of THAT argument that's going no where.

I hear that Sallos users can walk diagonally up those steps, like a monster.
