You miss the point. You see all those changes you mentioned? They were considered "problems" and were changed for the good of pvp. However, look at the state of pvp after each and every one of these changes, it dropped. They were made for "the good of pvp" yet they had the adverse effect. It is the same thing that killed OSI; changes to the system. It's also the same thing OSI couldn't change, players. Maybe Ryan should start bitching about his player-base and get us to change as a whole? Haha.

Point being is, if points are so big of importance to faction pvp, we need to re-look at ourselves and realize why we still play this 12 year old game.

People make for poor faction pvp, not points. People.

I agree, it is definitely the people's mentality that ruins pvp. You can tell who truly cares too much for points when you see their pvp style change as their points increase.

It is just people too into the game that make factioning boring/dead. Think about it, who here can honestly say it is more fun to 10v3 than 3v3? People create zergs to guarantee points. It will never change... Wipe points. Wipe everything. It'll be the same handful of people that will do whatever it takes to get points, even if that means turning against the respected rules of the field.

The playerbase of pvp never dropped due to the changes i mentioned. We are not asking to remove del pond. A faction wipe was done before, and it improved things for the time being.
You say it will hurt pvp but fail to explain why, other than just suggest its all the players fault. I am standing here saying that yes it is the playerbase, and unless you can convince ryan to find a new playerbase....we must make changes that adhere to the current situations. If you cant fix the core problem, you make best with what you can fix.......or we can all moan and piss on the forums. :/

Not that some of the lesser-thought-out patches didn't hurt factions, but the playerbase and their attitudes toward the game are what have driven factions into the ground.

i just look at it like this: one group establishes enough people to excessively cut down they're potential risk. Smaller groups react by saying: "we are way out numbered, im not going to go die and give them what they want...my points".
without as many points in the picture, players have less reason to: A) need as many numbers to pvp giving B) more "opportunities" to have fights.
the playerbase is to blame, agreed.

Once they started changing things faction pvp dropped. I know I was here for all the changes. Before they started changing things pvp was booming.

It will hurt pvp in the fact that it will not change anything. Wiping points just resets it, instead of the point whores looking at it like I have 2000 pts I don't want to lose they will go I have 80 points I do not want to lose.

Either way point whores will be point whores.

The problem is not the status of points but the unwillingness of people wanting to play without an advantage on the field. Deleting a select few peoples points is not going to change this.


They changed bolas, so people would stop crying, pvp still decreased.
They changed Aoe so people would stop crying, pvp still decreased.
They deleted points so people would stop crying, pvp still decreased.

No matter what they change it does not help. Which is why one can assume there has not been a point wipe yet.
Why should UOG Staff go out their way to change something that wont help anyhow?

There is nothing to fix about UOGamers, other than people's mentalities.


I can bet you anything in the world that even with a faction point wipe, it would not fix pvp and things would continue to go as they are currently going if not decrease again.
