John hops off his mount to tell Killer to give him the full furry of it's skills.
Furry flails about and release a horrable flame from it's bouls.
Darek looks at the Nightmare with fury in his eyes, he whispers 3 short words and in that instance Killers body is paralized.
John quickly noticed the pain in Killers eyes, he throws himself on to killer giving him a hard kick, and together they return to combat all the while Darek flee's for his pathetic life.

If anything should be changed about paralyzing mounts it should be that peacemaking be made an offensive spell. It's retarded that an outsider who's not even going to try to involve themself in combat can cause your pet to stop in it's tracks, and be completly useless in battle. Sure if my pet flags grey go ahead and peacemake it, but if I'm chasing oranges around town as a red. That's just bullshit.
