Behavior on Demise:
On RUN/UO you can run anywhere you want to.Whether you are on the grass or on the sand you can move at running speed.
This in turn means that since paragons on RUN/UO do not move as fast as they do on EA avoiding them in the Twisted Weald is not a problem
Behavior on OSI:
In the Twisted Weald you can not run in the sand you are restricted to walking speed only.When you get in the sand area you get a system message saying
"You suddenly find yourself unable to run"
Not until you leave the sand area and are back on the grass can you run while getting the system message
"You are free to move again"
I believe these messages are new but the movement restriction has always been there
EDIT
The swamp tiles trigger the spawning of spiders which auto attack the person that stepped on the tile
