Supply Line / Ambush event June 21

Saturday, June 21. Time TBD. Look for afternoon eastern (-5 GMT).

Gold Train

Chief Silver Wolf, concerned over increasing orc attacks against Wolf Clan village has ordered excess gold moved to the strongbox in nearby Empath Abby.

This shipment will be a train of pack horses transporting Gold from the Wolf village to Empath Abby.

See RP Ring to sign up for driver, guard, attacker positions and further details.

To help designate who is who, attackers will wear a Green Cape.
Attack leader will be Orcs, they will be hidden along the rout.
To assist Orcs requires Orc Kin mask, hiding skill would be good too.

the attacking team gets to keep any items on captured pack horses
any items left on corpses are fair game, insure items you want to keep

This is a [DAA] demise adventurers alliance sponsored event. Anybody interested in participating can sign up as a mule driver. However; players interested in pvp roles, attackers and transport guards have to be in an alliance guild or have their guild enter the alliance.

To discuss alliance PM Bjorg.
To apply for alliance read http://daa.oomguild.org/

The turnout for transport guards appears to vastly out number Orcs. What is needed are players to make Orcs. They can also use stand-in Orcs (with Mask of Orcish Kin) to help fill out their ranks.

When creating Orc characters, be sure to follow the guides found here,
http://www.bloodclanorcs.com/

To get your Orc guilded - go raise hell around the Orc Fort south of Yew have him prepared to pass a basic language test by Saturday Noon.

So are there item or template restrictions?

(Add-on)

Two Wolves, you need to update that map you have. Guardians of Sosaria are no longer here, Crimson Knights has taken over that region.

I can't think of any restrictions (aka fun enhancements)

Sorry for the old map. It was dusty too.

Arty 11's for example... Orny's.

Dart template... etc.

For the most part, you will be fighting Orcs who are on foot. They can take it. Hit them with your best shot.

My advice has always been, if you think of your character as a "hero type" and want to go all geared out, fine with me. Consider leaving the insurance off an item or two. That way, if you do fall in battle then there is an extra prize there on the field.

I am glad Undead responded.

[Orc] and [Wolf] have moved to demise adventurers alliance. [DAA] has the advantage of an active alliance leader who would be able to Ally or War with Undead. We would love to get [UND] and [Yew] on-board so we can all get back to killing each other again like in the "old days."

Now would be a great time to stitch over, as we are down an Orc and they could use the help. We are also looking at pushing the start time back. Many players have given the same feedback, they can not make Saturday afternoon.

Some of The Bad Company Tavern might want to help Wolf Clan in defending the caravan, as a sign of appreciation for Two Wolves and Wolfmother's help. We can't afford to break our current alliance, but we can war the attacking guilds. Would that be okay? If so, where do we sign up?

The main discussion/sign-up is on RP Ring, but I am following posts here too.

If all else fails, we will need characters to lead the pack horses. Since these are non-pvp roles in the scenario they can be filled by characters that are non-allied. It is actually preferable, because it would then be impossible to accidentally abandon a tame pack horse on the road because his owner was killed.

The start time is getting moved back to 6pm central / 7 eastern.

Both sides are going to want to give at least a half hour to preparation and planing.

Currently [Orc] is in a hostile/alliance with [DAA]. We are working on a method to get around the bug where, when two alliance leader guilds War their ally guilds do not go Orange to each other.

We are planning to merge all the characters from evil guilds in to Evil RPers [Evil]. Then use titles to designate the individual guild memberships.

This will allow [DAA] and all their ally guilds to use Field/Area/Summon spells in battle against [Evil].

This will be great if we can get it set up in time. I have confidence in these guilds leaders. They are very active Demise players, good communicators and have a long history of working together in the past.

As far as participation of guilds outside the [DAA]/[Evil] war, I am afraid that our current guild system that we have on Demise only allows one War at a time. Please advise me if this information is incorrect.

Re: Supply Line / Ambush event June 21

This event is going to start today in about two hours. The opposing sides should start getting prepared and organized in a but an hour.

What to expect in terms of strategy from attackers: to capture mule drivers they have to be undefended. That means if there is at least one transport guard alive on the screen, who is fighting then mule drivers can not be *captured*. If attackers are alone on the screen with a driver, then they can be captured.

The same applies to barricades that cross the road. Transport guards can not dismantle road blocks that are defended. To allow the mule drivers to continue, guards will have to move all obstacles off the roadway.

The main goal of attacks is to separate the mule drivers and the transport guards and to prevent the drivers from turning back. One approach would be to make a roadblock and defend it. If the transport team walks up to the blockade, the two sides can fight it out there.

Simple, but there is nothing preventing the transport team from turning back to the start for the draw. Their other choice is to split the transport guard, have one team stay with the mule drivers and another team scouting and clearing the road ahead.

Another attackers strategy would be to make a blockade behind the transport team with a small group of defenders and hide attackers further up ahead along side the road. Or harass the transport guards and try to get them to chase attackers away from the road and kill them off one at a time.

Re: Supply Line / Ambush event June 21

Results: Wolf Clan 1, Orcs 3

The supplies were four pack horses loaded with 30k gold each. The transport team killed the attackers and broke through the first blockade. Further down the road, two horses were separated from their driver because of field spells and captured. On their way back to Orc territory, quick thinking by Little Wolf caused one of these horses to be lured back to Empath Abby for one win for one win for the transport team. The mule drivers whet on ahead, but the horses came under attack from hostile locals in Yew. One was killed by a Reaper. While transferring gold onto the surviving pack horse, the last driver was captured by Grokar, counting as another two wins for the Orcs.

Things did not stop there. Afterwards there were a series of reprisal attacks. Since the pack horses were recently fighting, Wolf Mother who was one of the drivers was not able to hand over the horse, so she went with the Orcs back to the Orc Fort. Little Wolf attacked and got Wolf Mother free.

Once back at what was supposed to be the safety of the Wolf Clan village, Orcs soon arrived for their own counterattack. This lead to a series of captures and prisoner exchanges that left, the Wolf Clan village walls partly burned and Pa'Okie and Grokar in cages.

Thank you to everybody who came out to participate and those who showed their support for player events.

Re: Supply Line / Ambush event June 21

Thinking about doing another one of these supply line events.

This time with more gold, more drivers and more pack horses.

Looking for players wanting to sign up for driver, defender and attacker positions.

Also looking for players with merchant characters interested in RP.

RP merchants trade goods in person and are willing to risk transporting goods on the road between Brit, Skara and Yew.
