Disappearing items?! What is this?!

I got some dark blue sandals from a tailor bod and i put them on. Then i insured them to make sure i dont lose them.. i die and i lost them. They wern't on my corpse either and nothing or no one could have looted them as i died in the middle of no where. Im so confused, what happened to them?

How many times did you die? When you insure them its only for one time.

i heard theres a bug with this. you sometimes lose your insured items upon death.

Yes tray, Definately as my other insured items were with me and still insured.
