[Two Wolves]

Demise players say they would like to have expanded opportunity for pvp. The team behind Red vs Black was approached by j_monroy about an idea for creating a pair of warring alliances. The goal is to encourage all the guilds on Demise who say they want pvp to take a side in this alliance war.

We are going to start recruiting for this now. In Faction Corner.

Shard Wars is an ongoing Player Run Event with two opposition alliances who are in a perpetual state of war. This makes all game facets pvp facets. There are no special rules of engagement.

This is the discussion thread, for talking about mechanics of alliance war and how to recruit guilds, not for talking about the fact that players will be attacked. Being attack-able is the whole point and players who do not know how to provide their own character security will probably be in over their heads. This is Sparta!

Can reds join and travel to all facets?

Joining an alliance war does not allow your Red character to enter all facets, but I think it does prevent Blue enemies from calling guards and giving murder counts.

Great question. Grouping together Spawing Guilds into an Alliance will put more active players in communication at the same time. More active spawns will draw in more spawn raids. This will require more players to hold the spawn. It is much like a self perpetuating event. This should be a natural outcome of any endeavor that can attract a critical mass of player interest.

What would the difference be between an Order/Chaos type Alliance War Stone, that guild leaders would be able to join or leave on their own and what we already have in the Factions system?
