After many years of playing UO, only just found this out!
Generally the displayed title will be done alphabetically (with some out of place due to the coded name being different to the displayed name) BUT ... you can also chose which of your equally high skills is used.
So if you have 100 cartography and 100 inscription - by default your title will be shown as Grandmaster Cartographer. But if you set the cartography skill to locked and set the inscription to raise, then your title will be Grandmaster Scribe!
